TOMORROW MORNING...

My other half, partner in the truest sense of the word...

is leaving for a well-deserved ski trip and relaxation with friends...

And I will be on my own with...

my beautiful tween daughter who is worried about her Dad's unusual absence...

My football fanatic boy on the weekend of Super Bowl Sunday...

And this very joyful three-year-old force of nature...

Keep me in your thoughts!

Sometimes those times where you are single parenting can be a gift. I like being able to flex and flow a bit more easily with the kids during those times. But yes, I'm usually exhausted by the time Daddy gets home! Have a great weekend! :)

I hope all of you have a wonderful weekend, each in your own new way. One of my favorite people, and a father of two, goes away three weekends a year just with his guy buddies. They rent a cabin in the mountains and hike and talk and just bond, and he always says he comes back so renewed and invigorated as a husband and father. I think we all need time away from the people we love the most. Hope you get yours too!

I'm sure your husband will have a glorious time. I hope that you will be able to escape on your own "well-deserved vacation" sometime soon, too.

Your photos are superb. I especially love the expression on your youngest! Your hands are full, but so is your heart.

Oh, "GEM" was recently gone for 2 wks, but not for vacation. He travels constantly for work. It's very difficult on my kids, me, and him.
