LOST AND FOUND
"For whatever we lose (like a you or a me),
It's always our self we find in the sea."
~e.e. cummings~
{final photo, amazingly blurry, but taken with much love by my daughter featuring my mother, my sister, and I at the very high-class--note: glass and expensive antiques plus my three children and a heady dose of maternal anxiety about what all of that could equal--at my fellowship awards reception where our secretary of state gave me my certificate "For Artistic Excellence in Literature-Fiction". Sigh...that day came on the heels of my seaside weekend writer's conference where I can honestly say I started to feel "found" after some extended time lost. How good it feels to be circling back to myself again...migrating home.}

You look so lovely and happy!
How wonderful!!!
Your photos of the beach reminded me of going to the beach on the first day of spring last year~the rainy weather kept us away this year, but I feel the beach calling me this week.
:)

Gorgeous photos, all. (I was smelling salty ocean breezes and longing, so lovely were the ocean pictures, and you three glow! It's a good thing it was a tad blurry or we couldn't have stood the radiance.)
I hope to read more about the doings, but my echoed congrats!
Loved all the photos, and that award is such an affirmation... "artistic excellence"! Wonderful! Congratulations again!

So wonderful! I'm so happy for you. May the writing flow!
that makes me smile. the knowledge that some where across the ocean an extraordinary woman I know through her extraordinary words is circling back to herself. finding her self home.

Congratulations! Artistic excellence? Well, of course. We're known that for years!

January: well, i could say the same thing to you about your book of poems going to press--it's well-deserved and about time!
Claire: thank you...i cannot wait to get back there, but the off-season (no crowds, moody weather) seems to suit me much more so i may have to make it sooner rather than later.
Love,
D.
